Routine Immunization - UIP
Introduction to the Programme
Main objective of the Routine Immunization Services, under the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP), is to improve the Immunization Coverage to 100% to reduce morbidity and prevent mortality caused by Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs). 100% Immunization Coverage of all eligible beneficiaries (Under-5 children as per NIS, Adolescents with Td & Pregnant Women with Td). Achieve Measles and Rubella Elimination, by improving immunization coverage, robust outbreak surveillance and achieving universal reporting under fever and rash surveillance.
The State has taken initiative to provide two additional vaccines namely MMR and Typhoid to its children through State Fund.

Special Initiatives / Campaigns
Measles Rubella (MR) Campaign started in NCT of Delhi from 6th February 2023, and continued till 6th March 2023, and was followed by 3 weeks of sweeping activity, as per requirement, which started from 9th March 2023 and completed on 29th March 2023. The campaign targeted to vaccinate children in the age group of 9 months to 5 years, with one additional dose of MR Vaccine, irrespective of the previous vaccination status, through fixed sessions in health facilities i.e. dispensaries, maternity homes, hospitals etc. and outreach sessions in the community. The estimated target of the campaign was approx. 11 lacs, wherein 11,04,792 as per Headcount Survey reported by the districts and 10,76,695 as per HMIS Platform database. Complete (100 percent) of the target has been successfully vaccinated, with 11.20 lac (11,19,648) MR Vaccine Additional Campaign Doses being administered by the end of day of 29th March 2023.
