INTRODUCTION
Health and Family Welfare Training Centre (HFWTC) was established in 1968 in Delhi with the objective to sensitize the human resource for Family Welfare. It is a part of Directorate of Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
It is a state level training institute imparting training to Medical Officers and para-medical personnel of different health agencies of Delhi. Trainings are mainly focused on RMNCHA+ continum of care i.e. Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Adolescent Health.
Over the period of time the focus of training programme has shifted from knowledge to skill component. In order to achieve this objective, Training Centre is collaborating with various hospitals to impart skill based training programme to health functionaries.
- Fund allocation for FY 2025-26 for funds approved under RoP was prepared and shared with the respective sections for onward sharing with districts.
- Training centre managed to schedule back-to-back training sessions from May 2025 once the fund allocation, despite staff constraint.
- The centre conducted 11 distinct training programs ranging from CDR Training, NSSK training for Medical Officers, Safe Immunization Practices for Nursing Personnel, to National Deworming Day and specialized Training of Trainers (ToT) programs on Ayushman Arogya Mandir Centre.
- Over the course of multiple sessions were conducted across different venues, the centre successfully trained a total of 532 personnel in this FY.
- A total of 181 Medical Officers, 88 PHNO/Nursing Officers & 263 other healthcare personnel has been trained in this FY.
- Training sessions spanned a total of 27 training days , Training duration ranged from half a day to five days, tailored to the specific needs of each program.
